Board Member
Salma Mohammed has over 25 years of experience both as a Banker and as a Human Resource Management Professional, spanning operational, tactical, and strategic human resource management responsibilities. She is currently the Acting Managing Director of Centrum Finance Company Limited.
Her experience covers Global Strategy design and implementation, Business Process Improvement, Job Evaluation, Performance, Management, Compensation and Benefits, Management Designs, Executive Selection, Organizational Restructuring, Training Needs Analysis, Policies and Procedures Development, Due Diligence, Business Development and Financial & banking operations. She is the Co-founder/ COO of New Frontier Developments Limited, an investment company focused on financial advisory, hospitality, real estate and proprietary investments in start-ups and challenged companies and assets in the SME space, where she has led several initiatives including the ongoing N16 billion PPP for the redevelopment of the Utako Motor Park and Bus Terminal amongst others.
She was the Group Head, Corporate Services at ASO Savings & Loans, and Director of Integration for the ASO & Union Homes integration. Key among her achievements included a transformation project of ASO’s internal systems that entails the restructuring of the bank’s HRM framework, systems and processes.
Before joining ASO, Salma worked as Head of Private Banking at Bond Bank. Her experience in the banking industry also includes Private, Commercial, and Public-Sector banking, Operation, Treasury and Foreign Exchange management garnered at Intercontinental Bank PLC.
Salma has a Master’s degree in Strategic Human Resources Management from the University of Bedfordshire and an Accounting degree from Bayero University Kano.
In addition, she is a certified Balance Score Card practitioner from George Washington University, a certified Master Neuro-linguistic Programmer, a CIPM Professional Licensed Trainer (HRPL) and a member of the Institute of Director (IOD).
She has attended several short courses at INSEAD, Lagos Business School, London Business School, Wharton Business Schools; Desmond Tutu Fellowship/ Oxford University, Euro money training, Theios Consulting; London Business School; KPMG Professional Services; and Franklin Covey.
Salma is an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow of the African Leadership Institute.
Salma served as a Board member in Polaris Bank (NED); and is currently on the Board of Sentinel Energy & Gas Ltd (NED), New Frontier Developments Ltd (Executive Director) and Green Habitat Initiative (Chairman).
